Late 19th century J & P Coats 6-drawer spool cabinet; columnar pillars adorn the front corners; molded top; mitered bottom trim; dovetailed drawers. The ‘J & P COATS BEST SIX CORD SPOOL COTTON’ graphic on the rear panel is still legible. J & P Coats, a leading thread manufacturer in the 1800’s, began making spool cabinets in their Rhode Island plant around 1877.
